Abstract

|
Mitochondrial encephalomyopathy lactic acidosis, and stroke-like episodes(MELAS) syndrome is a disorder caused by mitochondrial metabolic disorders characterized by hydrocephania, muscular dysphoria, and thrombocytopenia. The drugs used for anesthesia remain controversial. In this case, we would like to report the experience of performing total intravenous anesthetic management(TIVA) on MELAS patients using propofol and remifentanyl.
